<p style="margin-right:0cm;margin-bottom:11.25pt;margin-left:.6pt;text-align:justify"><span><span style="font-size:10.0pt;font-family:"Lucida Grande","serif";color:#020300">The Confederation of Open Access Repositories (COAR) is pleased to announce the availability of the Open Access Policy Kit. </span></span><span><span style="font-size:10.0pt">The kit was produced by RCAAP (Portugal Open Access Science Repository) and contains valuable information and resources for the development and implementation of Open Access policies at funding agencies and universities. </span></span><span style="font-size:8.0pt;font-family:"Times","serif""></span></p>
<p style="margin-right:0cm;margin-bottom:11.25pt;margin-left:.6pt;text-align:justify"><span><span style="font-size:10.0pt">A growing number of organizations involved in research are adopting Open Access policies to ensure that the results of the research they support are widely available to researchers, practitioners, policy makers, and the general public. The Open Access Policy Kit provides detailed guidance and support for organizations considering developing such policies. </span></span><span style="font-size:8.0pt;font-family:"Times","serif""></span></p>
<p style="margin-right:0cm;margin-bottom:11.25pt;margin-left:.6pt;text-align:justify"><span><span style="font-size:10.0pt">The information contained in the kit is based on the analysis and adaptation of national and international examples and best practices. It is divided into two sections: the first relates to Open Access policies of research institutions; and the second to the policies of research funding agencies. In addition to contextual information, the kit also contains policy models, implementation plans and additional sources of information on the topic. </span></span><span style="font-size:8.0pt;font-family:"Times","serif""></span></p>
<p style="margin-right:0cm;margin-bottom:11.25pt;margin-left:.6pt;text-align:justify"><span><span style="font-size:10.0pt">The Open Access Policy Kit contributes to one of COAR's key objectives, to increase the worldwide adoption of policies requiring the deposit of research papers into Open Access repositories.</span></span><span style="font-size:8.0pt;font-family:"Times","serif""></span></p>
