Association announce open access funding arrangement</b></font>

<br><font size="2" face="Times New Roman">The Helmholtz Association and New
Journal of Physics (NJP) have today signed a funding agreement to cover
article publication charges for all authors affiliated to any of the Helmholtz
Research Centres who publish with NJP. The initial term of the agreement
will extend until the end of 2011.</font>

<br><font size="2" face="Times New Roman">"The libraries of the Helmholtz
Association fully share the view that open access is a substantial part
of the future of scientific publishing. This agreement with NJP represents
one further step in this direction," says Dr. Martin Köhler, Head
of the Central Library of the Deutsches Elektronen-Synchrotron (DESY).</font>

the endorsement of a research association with the stature of the Helmholtz
Association" said Dr Tim Smith, Senior Publisher, at IOP Publishing.
