Publishing joins the European Society for Traumatic Stress Studies (ESTSS) in
announcing the launch today of the society’s new journal, <i>European Journal of Psychotraumatology (EJPT)</i>. </span></font></p><p class="MsoNormal"><span lang="EN-US"><font class="Apple-style-span" face="'trebuchet ms', sans-serif"><br>

<p class="MsoNormal"><span lang="EN-US"><font class="Apple-style-span" face="'trebuchet ms', sans-serif">The <i>European
Journal of Psychotraumatology</i> is the official organ of the society and aims
to <span><span>engage
scholars, clinicians and researchers in the crucial discourse about traumatic
stress and its consequences, publishing peer-reviewed original research as well
as papers documenting evidence-based clinical practice. The Journal will
present all levels of evidence-based health care as well as conveying practical
and hands-on information for clinicians. All content is published open access
under a creative commons license. Accessibility to the Journal is further strengthened
by the unique inclusion of article abstracts in at least five different
languages, underscoring <i>EJPT’s</i>
European roots.</span></span></font></span></p><p class="MsoNormal"><span lang="EN-US"><span><span><font class="Apple-style-span" face="'trebuchet ms', sans-serif"><br></font></span></span></span></p>

launching with several important articles and case reports. Bisson and
colleagues report on “Implementing a screening programme for post-traumatic
stress disorder following violent crimes”, while Maercker & Znoj contribute
a review of “The younger sibling of PTSD: similarities and differences between
complicated grief and post-traumatic stress disorder”. A second review by
Lanius, Frewen, Vermetten and Yehuda covers “Fear conditioning and early life
vulnerabilities: Two distinct pathways of emotional dysregulation and brain
dysfunction in PTSD”. Other contributions include, “The impact of taxing
working memory on negative and positive memories” by Engelhard and colleagues,
and Townsend Fear and her co-workers’ piece on “50 ways to trace your veteran:
increasing response rates can be cheap and effective”. The inaugural content is rounded off by three
case reports, one on a new form of psychotherapy, the second on the feasibility
of brief intensive exposure therapy for PTSD patients with childhood sexual
abuse and, the third on Glucocorticoid augmentation of prolonged exposure
therapy.</span></span></font></p><p class="MsoNormal"><span><span lang="EN-US"><font class="Apple-style-span" face="'trebuchet ms', sans-serif"><br></font></span></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span><span lang="EN-US"><font class="Apple-style-span" face="'trebuchet ms', sans-serif">The editors
report that more papers are in the pipeline and under review; researchers,
clinicians, allied health care professionals, patient groups, policy makers,
media and the general public can expect to read even more content in the near
