The Fellowships of the National Academy of Agricultural
Sciences (NAAS) <http://www.naasindia.org/> embody a wide range of national and international scientists. Fellows
are identified though a rigorous process of selection, after nomination of potential
scientists who have demonstrated excellence in different areas of agricultural
sciences. For the purpose of evaluation of publications, given by the
scientists, the Academy has earlier done an exercise and identified the
journals of standing relevant to agricultural sciences. Each journal has been
assessed and the relative weightage has also been indicated by assigning appropriate
marks to these journals. You can access the criteria at <http://naasindia.org/rating.html>

Now again, the National Academy of Agricultural Sciences is
in the process of re-evaluating the NAAS Rating of Scientific Journals. Accordingly,
Association/Society publishing a scientific journal are requested to provide
the information related to their journal as per the attached proforma before
15th February 2010 to this office <http://naasindia.org/contactus.html>.

I invite all the Open Access Journal editors to submit the required information to NAAS in the attached proforma. NAAS wish to have hard copies, but Open Access Journals can mention their urls of issues. By this, I hope that that many open access journals are rated which in turn will make all the National Agricultrual Research System (NARS) scientists in India to publish in Open Access Journals which will further strengthen the golden open access movement in India.

NAAS had till dated rated about 1600 journals and that rating is being adopted by NARS for scientists assessment and recruitment in India.

Thanks & Regards

Sridhar Gutam

mobile: +91-9582791355
