German contributions to Open Access Week 2009 <br><br>
International Open Access Week will take place from 19 to 23 October
2009. Activities at many different locations worldwide during that week
will broaden awareness of Open Access and promote open access to the
knowledge and information generated by publicly-funded research.
<br><br>
The Alliance of German Science Organisations' Open Access Working Group
supports the broad participation of German science institutions in
international Open Access Week. Representatives of the Open Access
Working Group and open-access.net have set up a coordinating committee
whose aim is to support scientific and scholarly organisations in Germany
in planning and realising activities and events at their institutions
within the framework of international Open Access Week. <br><br>
The coordinating committee encourages scientific and scholarly
organisations in Germany to take part at the Open Access Week to broaden
awareness and understanding of Open Access among scholars and scientists.

All German institutions are invited to enhance their public visibility
and publicise their activities and events at Open Access Week by
registering with the information platform open-access.net:
