<Apologies for cross posting>****
A new resource for those toying with the idea of starting an open access
journal – or indeed considering transferring their business model from toll
access to open access - from the Australia Open Access Support Group.
The 'Starting an open access journal' page -
http://aoasg.org.au/starting-an-oa-journal/ includes links to online tools
to assist would-be open access publishers. There are links to blogs that
discuss recent experiences setting up journals, information for scholarly
societies considering making their journals open access, some resources and
links for libraries that publish plus some tips for indexing journals.****
There is an annotated bibliography of case studies from both a library and
editorial perspective is on a separate page: "OA publisher case studies"
http://aoasg.org.au/oa-publishing-case-studies/. This lists several case
studies from both librarians and researchers about the experience of
setting up and managing open access journals. Each reference includes some
detail about what is included in the paper.****
As always the AOASG is open to suggestions and comments about the page.
Please send through to eo at aoasg.org.au****
