(I apologize for crosspostings)

Dear friends,

In the last NECOBELAC <http://www.necobelac.er> training for trainers
course there was a special interest for institutional open access
policies, and how to start to create a new one. As examples were
recommended the Harvard's model
<http://osc.hul.harvard.edu/modelpolicy>, the one in eprints Handbook
<http://www.eprints.org/documentation/handbook/departments.php>, and the
"optimal policy" recommended in OASIS
<http://www.openoasis.org/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=148&Itemid=340>
and EOS. I take this opportunity to recall that MELIBEA
<http://www.accesoabierto.net/politicas/> is an international directory
to search and browse OA policies set out by academic/research
institutions and funders (it does not include mandate of theses).
Regarding the version announced in 2010, MELIBEA has implemented early
this year changes to better tailor our "OA estimation model" based on
some variables extracted form the policy terms. MELIBEA was also used to
show how wording can affect the effectiveness of the policy. I'd
appreciate any comment on that and also if it there might be some
error, please contact me (Note: the graphics still have to be optimized).
Cheers

Reme
