Dear Peter,

Some quick, and most probably repeated, suggestions. I must confess I just
thought about this in the last 2 minutes
 L

I suggest a 2 word term (like Open Access), the first part being for the
concept of “openness” and the second for the concept of “authorship”.

So, for the first word we could have, “Open”, “Shared”, “Common”, and for
the second “Creation”, “Authorship”, “Conception”.

And the term can be one combination from those like:

Open Creation, Open Authorship, Open Conception,

Shared Creation, Shared Authorship, Shared Conception,

Common Creation, Common Authorship, Common Conception.

Best,

Eloy Rodrigues

Assunto: [BOAI] last call for a terminology suggestion

In the February issue of SOAN, I called for reader help in coming up with a
short, sweet term for author-side openness, for example, the openness of
wikis to user edits. If "open access" is openness to readers and other
users, human and machine, what's a good analogous term for openness to
authors?

This is a last call for suggestions before I start to write up the results
for the March issue of SOAN. Send me your ideas at peter [dot] suber [at]
gmail [dot] com. I'll assume that I may name and quote you unless you tell
me that I shouldn't.

     Thanks,

     Peter
