[Forwarding from Repositories Support Project. --Peter Suber.]
Dear Colleagues,
The Repositories Support Project is delighted to announce a new ‘buddying’
scheme for the benefit of repository practitioners in the UK. This
initiative is being launched by the RSP, but it is anticipated that this is
a scheme that could be co-ordinated by the United Kingdom Council of
Research Repositories (UKCoRR) in the fullness of time.
The idea is simple – we would like to create a directory of repository
managers and administrators who would be willing to give up a little of
their time to welcome colleagues from nearby institutions who would visit to
see how things are done in other local institutions.
Initially we would like to create a basic record of practitioners who would
be prepared to give up some of their time to explain how things are done in
their institution and provide some local assistance.
If you would be interested in taking part or would like further details
please contact me directly. Once the scheme is up and running further
details will be available on the RSP website.
I look forward to hearing from you!
