Dear Colleagues,

Last year, we piloted a web-based community with colleagues from
institutions in 10 countries. Now, we have decided that it would be very
useful to open GKEN broadly and invite others to participate.

The Global Knowledge Exchange Network (GKEN) is a professional learning and
knowledge exchange forum devoted to the understanding of the changing role
of information –-its creation, management, dissemination and use–- in
scholarly research, higher education and business practice. Such
understanding requires multidisciplinary and self-generative type of
learning and we believe that this community and the tools we have provided
will support this type of inquiry.

Please join us at http://www.globalknowledgeexchange.net/

When you join, you will have an opportunity to participate in several types
of activities, including collective blogging about emerging trends and new
ideas, sharing of new resources through social tagging, collaborating on
early, pre-published work using Google knols and participating in online
 Speaker Series events as well as an annual research seminar at Harvard
University.

We invite any scholars and practitioners interested in the GKEN topics,
including:

* researchers
* technologists
* librarians
* content managers and data experts
* scholarly publishers
* research metrics experts
* educators and education theorists
* learning environments experts
* informatics experts
* knowledge managers
* copyright and IP experts
* policy makers

The GKEN project is sponsored jointly by the Harvard Business School
Knowledge and Library Services and the Copenhagen Business School Library.
The GKEN Founding Team includes Mary Lee Kennedy and Gosia Stergios (Harvard
Business School), and René Steffensen and Leif Hansen (Copenhagen Business
School).

We hope that you will join us in growing this community to become a uniquely
valuable source of knowledge and inspiration.

On behalf of the Founding Team,

Gosia Stergios
