[BOAI] Beginners query-Institutional Repositories vs traditional publishing repositories

Dear All
Greeting,

This question may sound very lame but since I have been given a project and
I am very new to this field kindly help me.

I have a project comparing the  characteristics (bibliometrics) of
institutional repositories/open access repositories with that of
repositories of traditional publishing that is Libraries(As per my
understanding)Kindly correct me If I am wrong.


   - Could someone please help me with the metrics and the possible methods/
   ways to conduct any comparison.
   - Studying only institutional repositories would make any sense and if
   yes,again what metrics can be studied.
   - Also any suggestions as to what all can be compared would be really
   appreciated.

I have submission in 15 days and I am totally lost.

Kindly help me.
