Dear All,
We've all read about repository developments. Now you can hear directly
from many of the people responsible for these developments, with the launch
of a series of podcasts from the Repositories Support Project.
The series opens with four podcasts, featuring 24 contributors and covering
topics including repository software, preservation and discovery.
- EPrints: repository software of the future or of the past?
Find out how trainees fared using the latest EPrints software to build
and populate a repository in one session using a new Web-based page editor.
- Fedora: optimum repository software or overkill?
Two directors of Fedora Commons explain why the added power and
flexibility of this repository software is worth the steeper learning curve.
- DRIVER: promoting digital repositories across Europe.
The SHERPA team leading UK participation in DRIVER show how the project
is giving visibility and political voice to European repositories.
- Digital preservation: are repositories doing enough for preservation?
Speakers at a workshop on Tackling the Preservation Challenge tell us
about practical tools and services to help repositories.
The podcasts are available to download to an MP3 player or stream directly
from <http://www.rsp.ac.uk/podcasts/>http://www.rsp.ac.uk/podcasts/
To keep up to date with RSP podcasts, you can subscribe to a project feed
or via iTunes.
