I would like to highlight for the group a very significant advance that we have made in the past few weeks, which may work to the benefit of a range of research teams across the University in due course.

I have previously talked in various forums about our transformative work in clinical data visualisation at UHS over the past few years. In particular, I have highlighted the UHS Lifelines timeline structured and iconographic interface, which places large quantities of heterogenous data from multiple sources on an intuitive interface for fast navigation and clinical decision assistance in real time.

Our ability to project this work to wider audiences has in the past been severely handicapped by the bespoke nature of the integral beta system within the UHS Clinical Data Estate.

As a result of some inspirational work by Alan Hales and recent ECS graduate Matt Warren, we have completely recoded and reformatted the concept into a self contained and exportable Application. It can now render JSON compatible data sets from many different taxonomies for expert decision assistance and operational insights.

We would be delighted to discuss the further application of this system with any interested parties from across the University, and I would be happy to give a synopsis of this very practical work at a future meeting of the Board.
